Progress....slowly but surely

Jerry made some progress today. The doctors are trying to wean Jerry from the different supports that he is on over the next several days and today, we made progress. He is very heavily sedated but seems to be comfortable all things considered.

Specific prayer requests for today are:
1. Protect him from complications with the goal for him to be free of all support and stable on his own so that we can get him the surgery that he needs.
2. Be thankful for continued improvement.
3. Continued patience and strength.

Waiting....

Overnight and into this morning, the doctors continue to work to stabilize him for the next step. The next 2-3 days will be critical in regard to Jerry's progress. He is in very critical condition.

Please continue to pray for us. Specific prayer requests: 1. Pray that Jerry's overall health will improve. 2. Pray for Debbie as she struggles to make decisions regarding Jerry's care. 3. Pray that we will receive clear signs in Jerry's condition to guide us.

Finally, please remember to think of Jerry as the Person he is....active, walking, biking, boating, etc., NOT in his current condition. Right now, we continue to wait.

Jerry's At Northwestern

It's about 2pm in the afternoon on Thursday and thankfully, Jerry made the flight up from Bloomington with no problems. He is currently in ICU here at Northwestern and doctors here are working quickly to assess his condition. We are thankful that he is under the care of some of the best cardiologists in the world here at NW. Please continue to pray for his recovery; specifically, please pray to protect Jerry from infections and fever so his body can continue to focus its energy on healing his heart.

We are asking that you please forward this url (http://updatesonjerry.blogspot.com) to friends and family members who are looking for information on Jerry's condition. The great news is that Jerry has a tremendous amount of support from his friends and family. However, we're a little shorthanded on cell phones so this is the quickest and most efficient way for us to update you on his condition. Thanks for your understanding.

We'll update this early and often as we get news. Thanks again for your continued prayers and support.

Transferring to Northwestern

As you all know, Jerry has been in the cardio care unit at BroMenn in Bloomington since his heart attack on Sunday. He is in serious condition but slowly improving and today, he is being flown to Northwestern in Chicago. As soon as we get more information on his condition and prognosis, we will update you here.
